Quilt Retreat - May 4 & 5 Friday, Saturday Location- Spring of Hope Community Church 605 Burns Drive, Altoona 1. Handi Quilter Educator coming for 2 days of training on the Longarm (4 classes) For new quilters or quilters that want to learn more. Sure there is lots to learn!! All Handi Quilter gadgets will be 20% off during retreat 2. Also, open sew time for those that want to bring machines and sew projects, will have 3-4 projects/teachers or sew your UFO projects that you want to finish Call the shop for details/prices to attend. Sign up, will be a fun 2 days!!! Lunch served and lots of door prizes. When you attend, bring your Show & Tell, fun to share all the quilts you have done...
Longarm Club - 2nd meeting held at the shop. We are meeting each month to discuss and share ideas on longarm quilting. This month - April 5 6:00pm Showing the Couching technique. Next month - May 10 Libby is sharing how to quilt Feathers, great classes!! Call & let me know if you are planning to attend, so I have a count of those participating each month Snacks will be provided. Also, bring your show & tell quilts or bring a quilt to discuss how you want to quilt it.
Fundamental Quilting class scheduled for April 15. Know anyone that want to learn to quilt, please have them call me. Still room for 4 more people Basics of sewing/quilting, making a potholder/placemat for the 1st class. Love to get new people involved in quilting.
Open Sew Days continue Wednesday & Friday starts at 10:30. Bring your machine and sew whatever you like or we do projects together that the group picks. Always fun to share tips and learn from each other. We socialize, eat lunch, and sew!!!
2nd Wed of the month is Quilter's Soup day, Bring a can of soup and add to the pot, we make really good pot of soup that day for lunch Last Wed of the month, go out for breakfast at restaurant to the come back to shop to sew. Join us!!

Sassy Sewers April 22 Sunday 12:00 Girls Sew. They do such a great job, each month sewing their project Any girls, want to join???
Sign up for the following-- Saturday April 7 11:00 Star Strata Tablerunner. Sew 7 strips together, cut triangles out & put together to make a nice star shaped tablerunner for a round table. Easy and fun to do!!!
Saturday April 14 11:00 Will be doing the paper piecing squares from Cake Mix patterns from Moda. Once you paper piece the squares, you can make a tablerunner, wallhanging, or quilt.
Never paper pieced?? This is good class to take Saturday March 31 11:00 or Friday April 20 11:00 or Saturday April 28 11:00 Foundation piecing blocks, easier than paper piecing, don't have to pull the paper off, the back of the block is fabric. Come to the shop to see, have several patterns and foundation choices for you Have 3 dates for classes for this. Has been a popular thing in the shop this month!!! Saturday April 21 11:00 Ironing Board Covers Applique a design on the top of your ironing board to make a decorative ironing board Want to get mine done to have nicer boards for the shop!!!
Thank-you to all that went on the Bus Trip to Lancaster Quilt Show. Had a fun time. Already they are planning the Hershey Quilt Show in July.
